We built the very first prototype in 2015. Back then PV prices were still very high and running the geyser in this fashion was more expensive than the traditional water heater systems. However the advantage of having the geyser switch off when the temperature was high enough outweighed even the cost at the time. The first model "Exported" all the extra energy to a battery charger, we soon learned that this was a very bad idea for reasons to numerous to mention.
In 2017 the 3rd generation model was developed with a programmable display.
In 2020 the 4th generation which included an MPPT was developed.
This gave rise to the updated development of the Pi2R Micro and Pi2R Intelli.

The SOLAR PV GEYSER CONTROLLER is the most powerful and versatile model of all.
The SOLAR PV GEYSER CONTROLLER uses the standard AC element and thermostat.
The SOLAR PV GEYSER CONTROLLER has a special thermostat that accurately measures water temperature to enable advanced power saving features.
It is therefore possible to have 100% power saving.
Depending on climate and geyser size.
The display has a full colour touch screen built in in logging features and WIFI to upload all data to a central server for easy access via our Cell phone App.
It can monitor your solar gains and electrical usage.
